Frequently
Asked
Questions
Q.
What’s your reading style?
A. I do a mix of cartomancy (card divination) and bibliomancy
(book divination). I prefer to do the reading “blind” — I start
without knowing the question and re-evaluate once all the cards
have been pulled. This reduces the chance that I will
inadvertently introduce my own biases into the reading, as
opposed to clearly stating my opinions.
Q.
Will tarot tell me The Truth?
A. Tarot is interpreted to the best of the reader's
ability. I strive to be clear in my interpretations, but an
interpretation is just that, an interpretation.
Q. Will tarot tell me The Future?
A. Tarot works best for short-term predictions. Even then, it is
not always 100% accurate because many variables can change any
given outcome. Any future prediction given in a reading is just
a likely outcome based on the present circumstances,
not a definite outcome. In my experience, tarot is
generally good for predicting about 3 months out, provided no
major changes between the time of the reading and when things
come to pass. There are readings made for predicting the coming
year, but the further out in time you look, the more general and
less firm the predictions are. What is said in the cards is not
written in stone. YOU have the gift of free will. It is a great
power to have; use it wisely.
Q. How do I ask a question of the tarot?
A. I refer you to lesson 7 from Joan Bunning's Learning the
Tarot page for a very well-written tutorial on the
matter.
Q. Can you give me legal, financial, medical, or psychological
advice?
A. Holy hell, no! I'm absolutely not
a qualified expert in any of those things, and therefore I can't
give any such advice.
Sometimes,
the cards may suggest to me that there is some legal,
financial, medical, or psychological thing going on, and I may
mention it. Any suggestions such as "I see there may be a
problem X having to do with Y" should be considered just that,
suggestions, and should be pursued afterward with an expert in
that field, not with me.
As
with any important matter, if you're really concerned, please
see an expert before making a final decision on a course of
action. Tarot does not in any way replace seeing a doctor,
lawyer, financial expert, or mental health provider.
